HALLOWED GROUND

“Throughout the years a number of people have participated at AirVenture Oshkosh, either they were bomber pilots like Paul Tibets who flew the B-29 or fighter pilots like Francis Stanley “Gabby” Gabreski who flew the P-47 and C.E. “Bud” Anderson who flew the P-51 Mustangs in Europe…they all went onto having storied careers in aviation. We have been blessed to have those men join us and tell their stories and being able to record them on video for future generations. Last year we had a special tribute to Bud Anderson where we gathered more than 20 P-51 Mustangs. We were able to showcase them on the taxiway in front of the huge airshow crowd at Oshkosh and turned them into the wind and did an engine run up. Having 20 or more Mustangs doing an engine run up on the taxiway was spectacular! .” – Bill Fischer, Warbirds of America Executive Director.
