Help Us Keep History Flying

At EAA Warbirds of America, we believe that history shouldn’t just sit in a museum — it should fly.

Across the skies of airshows, memorial flights, and educational events, historic military aircraft—known as “warbirds”—continue to tell the stories of generations who served. These aircraft are more than just machines; they are living, breathing legacies of courage, innovation, and sacrifice.

From the roar of a P-51 Mustang to the unmistakable silhouette of a B-25 Mitchell, warbirds inspire awe, educate the public, and honor those who defended our freedom. They connect us with the past in a way few other artifacts can. But keeping them in the air requires constant dedication — and the support of people like you.

Why Your Support Matters

Maintaining and flying warbird aircraft is incredibly challenging. These aircraft are often over 75 years old, and restoring or operating them demands rare parts, skilled craftsmanship, specialized knowledge, and rigorous safety compliance. Every flight you see at an airshow represents countless hours of work behind the scenes — and substantial financial investment.

Warbird owners and restorers are passionate, but many operate on limited budgets. That’s where EAA Warbirds of America comes in.

As a division of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we provide critical resources, guidance, and community support to keep these aircraft flying safely and to share their stories far and wide. We:

  • Support restorers and owners through educational programs, technical assistance, and grants
  • Promote safety by developing training materials and operational standards
  • Preserve history by keeping aircraft flying and sharing their stories at airshows and community events
  • Inspire the future by educating young people about aviation, engineering, and history through warbird outreach

When you donate to Warbirds of America, you’re not just giving to an organization — you’re actively helping to preserve an irreplaceable piece of our nation’s heritage.

The Eagle Plaza is a special area of reflection, dedicated to veterans and volunteers alike. The focal point is a stunning monument featuring a beautiful cast bronze eagle perched atop a six-sided base that pays tribute to the five branches of U.S. military service, plus EAA Warbirds of America, which pays tribute to the many dedicated volunteers of our organization. The Eagle Monument is “Dedicated to Those Who Serve”.

The Eagle Plaza bricks are available for purchase in two sizes, large and small. Large bricks ($1,000) are tan in color and 11.5″ x 11.5″. Small bricks ($300) are brown in color and 3.5″ x 7.5″.
