Please join us for the Third Annual San Angelo (SJT) NATA Formation Clinic on October 2-5. Fall brings milder temperatures and excellent flying weather. Mathis field has everything we need to maximize flying: warbird-friendly, large ramp space, wide runways, and discounted fuel from Ranger Aviation’s fuel truck.

All NATA members are invited to attend the clinic, but only Formation Members are permitted to fly as PIC. Training will be offered in Supported Aircraft Types assuming sufficient resources for each type are available. Other aircraft types may participate in the clinic at the discretion of the Training Officer, but supported aircraft types have scheduling priority. Contact the organizers to confirm aircraft of your type are expected. NATA check rides and QPRs are only conducted in Supported Aircraft Types.

Trainees must review our Formation Training Program before attending, paying particular attention to their specific aircraft requirements and the associated aircraft “Type Supplement.” First-time clinic participants may find this Clinic Newbie Checklist useful.

Arrival day is Thursday, October 2, and the clinic will begin with a Ground School in the Airport Conference Room at 1830 for any participants pursuing qualification (Wingman or Lead). Food will be provided. Attendance is mandatory for participants who have not attended a formal NATA ground school, but all are encouraged to attend. There is a mandatory safety briefing at 0800 on Friday for everyone who wants to fly in the clinic.
