    April 29-May 1, Chino, CA – Planes of Fame Airshow
    Planes of Fame Air Museum is proud to present Planes of Fame Airshow 2016, April 29 - May 1: commemorating the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. This year’s airshow will feature nearly 50 historic aircraft, performing for your enjoyment as well as a salute to our veterans. We invite you to the airshow to celebrate the history, contributions, and sacrifices of our veterans.

    Performers include USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team and Heritage Flight, Sean D. Tucker-Team Oracle Aerobatics, Sea Fury Aerobatics by Sanders Aeronautics, Rob Harrison and the Tumbling Bear, Kent Pietsch and the Jelly Belly Airplane, Erickson Aircraft Collection, Texas Flying Legends, John Collver SNJ-AT6 Aerobatics, Granley Airshows Yak Aerobatic Team and over 40 WWII aircraft including Zeros, B-25, P-47, and P-51s, and there is more to announce later! In addition to many other fantastic airplanes that will be performing and on static display, there will be a special panel discussion with some of our honored veterans.     May 27, Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas Veterans Memorial – A National Tribute
    The Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Foundation has announced the dedication ceremony for the Las Vegas Veterans Memorial - A National Tribute scheduled for 9:00 AM on Friday May 27th, 2016 of the Memorial Day Weekend at the site, 555 East Washington Avenue, Las Vegas, NV. The public and the media are invited to attend.

    Las Vegas Veterans Memorial - A National Tribute is a national monument recognizing the service and sacrifice of American veterans and their families. The two-acre memorial and park will feature 18 larger-than-life statues, from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terror. The memorial will serve as a reminder that we will forever honor the proud principles upon which our nation was founded, and that we will never forget the spirit and heroism of those who have, and will, answer the call of duty.     June 4-5, Blaine, MN – Discover Aviation Days.
    Come to the Anoka County Airport in Blaine from 7am to 4pm and Discover Aviation! Come enjoy numerous exhibitors, aircraft & helicopter rides, food booths, and more! On display will be general and corporate aircraft, experimental and homebuilt, WWII fighters, trainers and bombers, along with vintage and modern military aircraft. Those interested in a career in aviation can stop by the aviation education booths, and see flying demonstrations.

    A pancake breakfast & lunch to be served both days. An evening Hangar Dance with a 15 piece 1940's swing band held Saturday night. Admission to Discover Aviation Days is FREE.     July 22-24, Janesville, WI – THE COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE (CAF) AND EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (EAA) ANNOUNCE HEAVY BOMBERS WEEKEND 2016
    Event in Janesville, Wisconsin July 22-24 features the B-29 Superfortress, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, AC-47 Gunship, and Grumman C1-A.

    In a fourth annual gathering of aircraft from the World War II and Vietnam War eras, the CAF and EAA are joining forces for a Heavy Bombers Weekend 2016 in Janesville, Wisconsin the weekend before EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016. The event starts Friday, July 22, 2016 and will feature the world’s only airworthy B-29 Superfortress FIFI; the B-17 Aluminum Overcast; the B-25 Yellow Rose; the AC-47 Gunship Spooky; and Grumman C1-A Trader. Other attending aircraft include two P-51 Mustangs, a C-45 Expeditor, two TBM Avengers, PT-13 Stearman, AT-6 Texan, two SNJ-5s, PT-26, KC-135 fuel tanker from the 128th Air Refueling Wing, and an L-29 jet. Many of the airplanes will be available for ground tours and rides. A Bell 47 Helicopter will also be offering rides. Additional ground tour aircraft include a Vietnam-era Huey helicopter and the Rockford REACT helicopter.

    “We are excited to bring the AirPower History Tour to Janesville, Wisconsin,” said Gerald Oliver, a member of the CAF B-29 Squadron. “The people of southern Wisconsin offered strong support for the 2013 through 2015 events so we are bringing yet another unique show in 2016 for the Janesville, Beloit, Rockford, and Madison area communities to enjoy.” Sean Elliott, EAA vice president of advocacy and safety said, “This is a historic opportunity for the public to view, touch, photograph, climb-through, and even fly in these aircraft at one location. The Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville offers an ideal venue for a three-day show on their way to EAA AirVenture the following week.”
