May 18, Brady, TX – Wow! We are getting in high gear to get ready for our 3rd Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration & Fly-In on May 18th at historic Curtis Field in Brady, TX. We're excited and looking forward to seeing you there!
We already have a great group of Warbirds lined up to come. The B-25 Yellow Rose is coming back, so if you missed out on getting a ride last year, here's your chance. The BT-15, Little Noodle, is also coming back and available for rides. (Check out the February AOPA magazine to see a great article about this very plane!) In addition, we welcome back Jack Threadgill and his beautiful PT-19, the C-47, a P-40, T-6 Texan, and a PT-17 that was actually stationed at Curtis Field during WWII!!! We welcome everyone, and would love to have more warbirds and airplanes of every kind! We are looking to welcome our Army aviators and their birds from Ft. Hood back and are looking forward to the moving ceremony by the joint service Color Guard from Goodfellow AFB at noon! We're looking forward to another great $5 hamburger lunch to benefit Morgan Military Aviation Museum and Hill Kountry K-Life and another great hangar dance. We are working on something else BIG but still under wraps right now! We are also looking for reenactor groups to join us, so if anyone can help us out with this, please let us know. Don't forget that camping is allowed on the field, and showers and restrooms are available in the big hangar. We also would be honored to welcome any pilots who trained at Curtis Field and any former workers from Curtis Field or the POW camp. Oh, and Rick wants someone to bring a Sherman tank. (Never hurts to try!)
We welcome your ideas and feedback on how we can make 2013's event bigger and better than ever. We appreciate everyone who has helped us get this far, and we look forward to sharing a great day with you again!
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail or call 325.456.6726. Also, don't forget to Like Morgan Military Aviation Museum on Facebook and check in with our website at www.morganmilitaryaviationmuseum.com.
We are also looking for pictures from last year's event, so if anyone has any they would like to share, we would love to have them. If you haven't already, please check out the great video about last year's event done by Jim Connors that you can find on our Facebook page.
OK, this was a lot, so thanks for reading! We are looking forward to a great day on 18 May!
Sincerely,
