SUMMARY:CYFD Brantford Formation Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Brantford (ONT) Formation Clinic – 2023\n\n\n\n\n \nPlease join us June 14-18 for the first NATA Formation Clinic at Brantford\, Ontario\, Canada (CYFD).\n \nNATA will hold its second Canadian Formation clinic in Brantford\, Ontario June 14-18. In addition to formation proficiency and training flights\, formation qualified pilots can participate in a photo-flight over the Niagara Falls \nArrival day is Wednesday\, June 14th. A mandatory Safety Briefing will kick off the clinic 0800 Thursday. Ground school will be offered\, schedule TBD. \nAll NATA Formation members are welcome. Training will be offered in T-6/SNJ/Harvard and T-28 as long as enough of each type attend the event. Trainees must review our Formation Training Program before attending this clinic\, paying particular attention to their specific aircraft requirements and the associated aircraft “Type Supplement” (formerly “Appendix D”). First-time clinic participants may find this Check List useful. \nNATA will comply with any governmental restrictions related to COVID-19. \nPlease review ALL of the registration steps below before proceeding: \n\n\n\nREGISTER ONLINE. Begin by clicking on the Register Now button\, supply the requested information\, and pay the registration fee. Late registrants will receive their T-shirt and name patch after the clinic. (You must be logged in to see the button. If you are not a Formation member\, you will receive an error message. You may upgrade your membership by visiting your profile\, clicking the renew early link\, and switching to Formation. The non-PIC member registration option may ONLY be used by members who will not be piloting aircraft at the clinic.)\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nTRAINING? To be added to the list of trainees at the clinic (Wingman or Lead qualification)\, check the “Formation training” box during registration. Please do not check the box if you are participating for proficiency flying or as an IP/CP. If enough first-timers register\, a training ground school may be arranged on arrival day (late afternoon).\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nINSURANCE. NOTICE:  If your insurance underwriter is not USSIC\, please share NATA’s restated Clinic Insurance Requirements with your broker (many policies were endorsed improperly in the past and will no longer be accepted).  \nNEW: Upload a Certificate of Insurance that meets NATA’s Clinic Insurance Requirements by visiting My Formation Documents on the Formation+ menu. (The good news is that once a COI has been uploaded and approved\, it will be good for most clinics until the policy expiration date. You may confirm uploaded COI status by viewing your personal Formation Documents.)\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT. You must accept the HH terms during registration\, then DOWNLOAD the agreement here\, print it\, sign and witness\, scan\, and upload by visiting your personal Formation Documents. Each person registered\, including guests\, must sign an agreement.\n\n\n\n \n\nALLOW TEXT MESSAGES. Clinic organizers may use text messages to relay information to participants during the clinic (e.g.\, weather-related updates). Please allow NATA to send you text messages by visiting the Contact Information tab in your profile\, and checking the box under your mobile number in Other Contacts\, towards the bottom of the screen. Review your personal Contact Information here.\n\nOther Information: \n\n\n\nINTERNATIONAL. Information for participants traveling to Canada is available here and at the Additional Info link below. Review the entire list now\, noting that some items are time-criticalor potentially disqualifying:\n\nExperimental authorization. Participants who bring US-registered experimental aircraft (T-28s and some Harvards) must submit an application for authorization to Transport Canada by May 24th. If requested\, we will hold a Zoom call to review the information and answer questions\nPassport. US travelers should confirm their passport will not expire within 6 months of the clinic\nPilot Medical Certificate. BasicMed not accepted in Canada\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTRAINEE PREPARATION. Pilots seeking training must comply with the aircraft readiness requirements in paragraph 5 of the Training Program. Please pay particular attention to the rear seat comms… we cannot conduct training in your aircraft if an IP cannot communicate with you and other aircraft in the flight. Also\, note that an “Eval” flight is required for first-time clinic participants\, and training materials must be reviewed prior to arrival.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMEALS. Breakfasts available at the hotel. Lunches purchased individually each day at the co-colocated cafe\, from 8am to 2pm. Dinners at variety of restaurants (order from the menu\, paid individually)\, including Pub style\, family style\, and fine dining.  \n\nHOTEL. When you reserve\, mention that the car should be delivered to the airport and key left at the FBO.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFUEL & OIL. Fuelling from the truck. Engine oil is not carried by the FBO\, but Aircraft Spruce has facility on site: simply order oil delivered to their Brantford Airport location.\n\n\n\n \n\nHANGARS & OTHER.  All parking on the main ramp. No grass parking available. Bring your own chocks and tie downs. No hangars available.
