SUMMARY:Buckeye Air Fiar
DESCRIPTION:\n\n \n2022: Two Air Show Days!\nSaturday\, February 19th\, Noon – 2:00 p.m.\n&\nSunday\, February 20th\, Noon – 2:00 p.m.  \n\nMeet the Airshow Performers\n\n\n\n  \nJon Melby Airshows\nWith the wide variety of performers and aircraft on the airshow circuit today\, Jon has chosen to concentrate on flying freestyle maneuvers in a modern bi-plane. The bi-plane has a classic look\, but Jon keeps the audiences attention with his aggressive performance style. \n\n\n\n  \nBrad Wursten Power Addiction Airshow\nFlying the MXS-R aerobatic aircraft by MX Aircraft\, Brad brings power and performance into each airshow. Watch as he pushes the envelope of one of the most advanced aerobatic aircraft in the world today. Brad will delight and amaze the audience while remaining well within his tight margin of safety.  \n\n\n\n  \nThe Vanguard Squadron \nThe only ethanol-powered airshow team in the world is coming to the airshow! The team of four Vans RV-3 airplanes demonstrates formation flying at its finest\, including: formation loops and rolls. Flying formation aerobatics requires intense dedication and practice and the Vanguards bring a wealth of experience to the show with over two decades of airshow experience! \n\n\n\n\n \nJeff Overby\, Buckeye Air Fair Announcer\nJeff Overby became hooked on aviation in 1996 after attending local fly-in. He was offered a ride and that is all that it took to get him hooked on aviation. He enjoys the unlimited freedom\, speed and feeling of G-Force as he regularly takes to the skies. \nHe has owned several airplanes from Cessna’s\, Float & Ski equipped Piper Super Cub\, and several aerobatic models including Extra\, Pitts and Harmon Rockets. While attending an airshow with his aerobatic flight instructor he was asked to be the announcer and the crowd enjoyed his high energy and knowledge of the sport. \nJeff now travels from his home base of Phoenix\, AZ with wife Melissa and two children Trevin and Lindsey\, entertaining crowds at some of the largest airshows in the United States. He is honored to be a part of the Yak 110 team and hopes to meet you at an airshow soon. \n\nPilots that fly-in for this event\, fly at their own risk. For more information\, visit the pilot info page. \nHotel info: Discount dates. Discount is shown once you enter the dates on the link\, reserve now! \nPilot Information\nPilots flying in the vicinity of Buckeye Municipal Airport (KBXK) during the Buckeye Air Fair \nBuckeye Air Fair will be held at the Buckeye Municipal Airport (BXK) Saturday\, February 18-20\, 2022. \nThe Air Fair is expected to generate an unusually high volume of VFR traffic in the vicinity of KBXK. Since this airspace is routinely subject to intensive student training activity\, the amount of VFR traffic concentrated in a relatively small area will be extremely high; consequently\, pilots are urged to exercise extreme caution when conducting operations in this area. \nThere will not be any special arrival/departure procedures in effect during the Air Fair. Pilots operating to\, from and in the vicinity of Buckeye Municipal Airport during this period should follow standard recommended practices for operations at non-towered airports\, utilizing CTAF (122.975). Pilots should exercise extreme caution for heavy traffic in the area. \nExpect an airspace closure between 11:00L and 12:30L for the airshow performances. No arrivals or departures will be permitted between these times. \nCautions: \n\nPalo Verde Nuclear Generating Station\nTraining areas\nAlert Areas\nMilitary Training Routes\n\nNearby airports for diversions if necessary: \n\nPhoenix Goodyear (KGYR 15 NM E)\nGlendale (KGEU 18 NM ENE)\nGila Bend (E63 28 NM S)\nWickenburg (E25 32 NM N)\n\nVFR Loiter points if needed due to delays: \n\nArlington (~7 SW of airport)\nBuckeye Hills (~9 S of airport: peak 1952)\nPierce (~6 SE of airport)\nTonopah Truck Stop (~ 12 WNW of airport along I10)\nGila Compressor (~12 SW of airport beyond Arlington)\nProving Grounds (~12 N of BXK VORTAC)\n\nVFR Departure recommendations: \n\nMonitor AWOS before engine start 119.625 or 623-386-7627\nAdvise ground safety personnel of departure readiness and start engine after they clear area.\nOften best departure path will be the internal east taxiway south to TXY A then to RWY 35 or via TXY H to RWY 17 based on wind.\n\n\n
