December 7, 2007 - EAA 'TIMELESS VOICE OF THE WEEK' RETURNS December 7, 2007 marks the 66th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Eighteen ships were sunk or severely damaged, over 210 planes were destroyed or taken out of commission, and nearly 2,500 military personnel were killed. While shocked about the attack, most Americans called for a quick and decisive retaliation against Japan, including President Roosevelt. The result was the Doolittle Raid. Thomas C. Griffin was the navigator on the ninth B-25 to launch off of the USS Hornet during that raid on April 18, 1942. This is his story. |
