Panchito to Be Featured on Popular History Channel Program

December 15, 2006 - Larry Kelley, Warbird #4053, has informed EAA Warbirds of America that his B-25 Panchito will be featured on an upcoming episode of Mail Call on the History Channel. The show features host R. Lee Ermy portraying a gruff Marine Corps gunnery sergeant who answers viewer questions about equipment and technology used by the military.
Kelley said that this particular episode would begin with a promotion for air shows, stating that these types of events are an excellent way for the public to see our active military hardware and those “great old warbirds.” The episode also covers the National Museum of the United States Air Force, including two of its unique aircraft, the C-141 Hanoi Taxi and B-17 Memphis Belle.
The show will also discuss the history of the B-25 and feature Larry’s Panchito in a spectacular aerial flight demonstration.
Panchito has been showcased at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in recent years through a unique partnership with the Disabled America Veterans Outreach Program and EAA Warbirds of America.
The episode is scheduled to air on Friday evening, February 16, 2007. Check your local listings for more information.
