EAA Members Gain Valuable New Benefit: Free Museum Admission

March 1, 2004 - March 1, 2004, marks an important milestone for EAA members and EAA’s world-class AirVenture Museum. Beginning today, EAA members who present their current membership card will be admitted free to the museum. As exhibits change throughout the year and a growing number of special events occur, EAA members can visit the museum as many times as they wish without having to pay admission. They just need to remember to bring their membership card.

“We made the change as a way to thank EAA members for their support in making our world-class museum possible,” said EAA Museum Director Adam Smith. “It also encourages members to bring family and friends to enjoy the facility more often, and adds a significant new EAA member benefit.”

Visiting EAA members simply need to present their membership card upon entry to the museum. They’ll be given a special sticker featuring the EAA Member logo. Non-members will have the opportunity to join EAA at the admissions counter, and current members can purchase $10 family memberships that include the benefit of free admission to immediate family members.

The average cost of membership in a comparable facility exceeds $50. But for just $40 (or $50 for a family) EAA offers unlimited admissions to a world-class museum, plus all the regular benefits of EAA membership like a magazine subscription, discounts on EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and more.

The previous policy provided members with one free admission voucher each year. (Those vouchers already distributed are valid through the end of the year 2004.)

Dave and Dawn Ingeles, Rockford Illinois, were the first EAA members to receive free admission through EAA's new member benefit on Monday, March 1. The couple joined upon learning of the new policy that admits EAA members to AirVenture Museum at no charge. Dave is a former A&P mechanic and was an EAA member several years ago and a frequent visitor to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Also pictured is EAA's Carol Sitzberger of the museum staff.
