EAA Warbirds of America Aircraft Insurance Plan Now More Accessible Than Ever Before

EAA Aviation Center, Oshkosh, WI. (March 3, 2003) – The EAA Warbirds of America aircraft insurance plan, specially designed to meet the needs of warbird owners, is now more accessible than ever before, as it is now available through many local independent agents.

This expansion allows warbirds owners to work through local agents to obtain the outstanding, comprehensive coverage at competitive rates. Underwritten by U.S. Specialty Insurance Company’s Aviation Division, the Warbirds of America Insurance Plan is rated A+ by A.M. Best. The plan emphasizes safety and continual training as part of its’ coverage.

“The nearly unlimited local access to this insurance plan will help Warbirds of America members keep their magnificent airplanes flying,” said Bill Fischer, Warbirds of America Executive Director. “U.S. Specialty Insurance understands the unique challenges of owning and operating these rare aircraft. The insurance plan also offers Warbirds members additional discounts for participating in safety and training programs.”

The warbirds insurance plan is part of the Warbirds of America support to its’ members, who make significant personal commitment to preserve and display these historic military aircraft. For more than 30 years, this division of the Experimental Aircraft Association has been dedicated to maintaining these airplanes to honor the men and women who served in the armed forces. Warbird members also fly and exhibit these aircraft as a way for today’s aviation enthusiasts to discover more about the history of flight.

“USSIC has always supported the warbird movement, through our insurance efforts and participation in programs at fly-ins such as EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and Sun ‘n Fun in Lakeland, Florida,” said Don Barker, Executive Vice President of U.S. Specialty Insurance Company. “We believe we play an important role in making aircraft insurance affordable for warbird owners while emphasizing the value of safety and training programs.”

The EAA Warbirds of America aircraft insurance program can supply coverage to the majority of warbird aircraft, but each aircraft is considered on a variety of risk factors. Any independent insurance agent licensed with USSIC’s Aviation Division can find out more by calling 800-777-2378.
