AirVenture
2000...A photo essay /
Take seven days
in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, add nearly 400 warbirds of all types,
several hundred energetic volunteers, a corps of living
history re-enactors, several restored military vehicles, and
thousands of visitors, and mix them together the result is the
greatest gathering of warbird owners, operators and
enthusiasts. That was a small part of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
2000.

THE COVER
Front
Cover... The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation's
Bell UH-1 "Huey," along with other Vietnam-era rotary
wing aircraft, gave us a glimpse at a seldom-represented period of
military aviation. Their demonstration was fascinating and
emotion-invoking for many. EAA photo by Arnold Greenwell. |
